Food is very tasty. Everything is seasoned perfectly. The pork hock and braided pork rice.
This Taiwanese restaurant features a pleasant and well-designed interior, giving off a comfortable and modern vibe the moment you walk in. The menu offers a variety of classic Taiwanese comfort dishes, so we decided to try a few staples: beef noodles, braised minced pork on rice (滷肉飯), and the assorted deep-fried platter. The standout was definitely the braised minced pork on rice — rich, savoury, and aromatic, with the sauce soaking nicely into the rice. The assorted deep-fried platter was also a highlight: crispy, well-seasoned, and satisfying, with each item fried to the right texture without being greasy. On the other hand, the beef noodles were just average. The broth and beef were acceptable, but nothing particularly memorable compared to stronger Taiwanese noodle spots. Overall, it was a reasonable dining experience. The environment is nice, some dishes were genuinely enjoyable, and although not everything stood out, it’s still a place worth trying if you’re in the mood for Taiwanese comfort food.
I haven't visited Uncle Lu for a long while. I had ordered their famous beef noodle soup and it was full of flavors as I had remembered. The broth and beef was hearty and pack full of deliciousness.
it seems liek uncle lu is a looser cuz when i got their fantuan 1$ meal there was so little meat that i questioned why i ordered this box of rice... while their rice was fine their meat was so nonexistnet i could barely taste it, but ot tastes like homestyle chinese cookine minus all the spices, making it taste just like food court food... but ig its 1$ so 1.5/5
The food pretty good , Fragrant Eggplant Clay Pot quite salty But the pig Knuckle is good Not many people come, perhaps no one know it.
So this is Taiwanese style taste. The pork hock or pork knuckles is very tasty and is their signature dish. They give you a dip with is sweet and ginger. They also have a braised pork belly with rice that is popular. In the pictures you'll see we got the chicken. Very delicious. Also sweet. Taiwanese food to me tends to be more sweet. Come here to enjoy decent taste. There was a table beside us that came in after and complained about how long it took for their food to be served. Have some patience folks
I have always enjoyed their pork hock but the one I had few days ago was not fresh nor tender; however, the dipping sauce remained as tangy as before which I liked. The deep fried chicken nuggets were excellent, juicy and delicious and very crispy. The lu wei (marinated apps) was not as good as I have hoped for, the intestine wasn’t cleaned properly and tofu was too tough. The omelet was simple yet sophisticated, the combination of egg and corn starch water surprisingly goes well together. The malt milk tea was as good as before too! All in all, I’ll come back to try other dishes.
So there was a photo of those steamed soup pork dumplings on the menu, so I pointed to it and asked to order one of those. LOL the waitress said it was not on the menu and it was just a photo… Why would they put a photo of a food item when it’s not even on the menu???? Anyways besides that, the Curry beef and rice was good except that there was so little rice I had to order another bowl of plain rice. Lots of sauce though! We also got the deep-fried chicken nuggets and noodle soup. The chicken was very good, but the soup was almost tasteless. Overall it was a satisfactory experience. I would still come back just to try different items though!
